Do you rent helmets? Yes, all of our rental shops offer helmets for juniors and adults. Helmets are required for all children 12 and under enrolled in Ski and Snowboard School lessons. Helmets can also be purchased at all rental locations.
Do you rent winter clothing? Clothing rentals are not available. You can purchase the latest styles and a wide variety of brands from all Mammoth Sports locations at each base lodge and in The Village, as well as the Mountain Center in The Village.
Can I pick up my skis at one location and drop them off at another? Yes, at any of our on-hill locations: Main, Canyon and Eagle Lodges, and Mountain Center at The Village.
Can I exchange my ski rental for a snowboard rental? Yes you may exchange your skis for a snowboard or your snowboard for skis. You can also upgrade in the process – just pay the price adjustment for the changes.
What do I do with my skis at the end of the day if I am skiing the next day? For your convenience, all on-hill rental shops provide a complimentary overnight gear check. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
How long will it take to get equipment? We recommend that you arrive at the rental shop at least 1 hour before hitting the slopes or before your lesson time.
Do you offer a rental + lift ticket package? No.You can book our kids or adult lesson package that also includes your rentals and lift ticket.
Do you offer rental discounts? Yes, we offer early booking and multi-day discounts.

Multi-day discounts are not offered during holiday periods. Child and youth rentals do not qualify for multi-day rental discounts.
Do you carry demos in child sizes? We offer a limited selection of demo equipment for children – skis only.
When will I pay for my rentals? Total payment is required at time of booking for advanced reservations, or at time of purchase if renting day-of or day prior in person at the rental shop or by calling 800.MAMMOTH.
What if I cannot decide how many days I will be renting? If you did not pre-book a multi-day rental, you will need to return your equipment at day's end and come back each following day you would like to rent. Should you decide that you would like to rent for a longer period of time, then inform the rental shop know when you return your equipment and they will accommodate your request if able(depending on rental inventory during that time frame). Multi-day discounts will not apply.
When should I return my skis/snowboard rentals? If only renting for 1 day, please return at day's end. If renting for multiple days, please return your rental equipment at the end of your last day.
What happens if I return my equipment early? No refunds or credit vouchers will be issued due to wind, weather or snow conditions.
How can I speed up the rental process?
- Save time and money by planing ahead so you can take advantage of advanced booking and multi-day discounts - pre-book at least 2 days ahead online or by calling 800.MAMMOTH.
- Before you pre-book or arrive at the rental shop, know the weight, height and shoe sizes of all people needing to rent equipment.
- Plan to arrive for rental pick up at least one hour before hitting the slopes.
- If you're taking a lesson, arrive at the rental shop at 8am.
- If you didn't pre-book, take care of your paperwork and fitting the day before (no extra charge). Early rental pickup is available 2–3:30PM.
What else can I purchase at rental shops? You can also purchase lift tickets, lessons and ski necessities such as helmets, goggles, gloves, sunscreen, lip balm, neck gators, and hand warmers.
